FOR THE BIRDS
My family and I are bird watchers and anxiously await the arrival of our spring friends. As weather warms
and flowers bloom, it isn’t long before we see wrens at their birdhouses and Hummingbirds at their feeders. We enjoyed
sitting on the porch and taking in the view.
One spring, one of the smallest wrens I have ever seen, showed up in our yard. It didn’t seem to me,
to be much larger than the hummingbird that visited the feeder often. I thought it would be neat to see the birds close together
to compare their size.
The Hummingbirds rested often on the tree limbs and wired near the house.
One day, as I watched from the porch, the Hummingbird landed on an electrical wire attached to the house.
He sat there several seconds when to my surprise, the little wren flew down to join him, less than four feet away from me.
They were inches apart and I had my answer.
I was amazed and knew it really was one of God’s little gifts of faith.
